Saudi Arabia raises India’s Haj quota by 10, 000

NEW DELHI: Saudi Arabia has announced an additional quota of 10,000 Haj seats for India this year.

The entire lot of these 10,000 seats has been transferred to the Haj Committee of India, Mumbai.

The seats will be distributed to the states/ Union Territories that have received applications in excess of originally allotted quota on the basis of proportionate Muslim population of the state/ UT concerned, said the foreign ministry in a statement.
