Saudi police to use T3 Motion ESV during HajRiyadh: Saudi police is to use T3 Motion series electric standup vehicle (ESV) for the first time during the upcoming Haj.

The three-wheeler electric motorbikes will enable policemen to discharge their duties better during rush hours, Al Arabiya channel reported on Monday.

Prominent Saudi businessman Abu Baker Omar Balubaid, who is the owner and general manager of Balubaid Automotive Company, has imported 20 such vehicles and the vehicles will reach Jeddah Islamic Port soon, according to the report.

“The vehicle, equipped with a laptop as well as lighting and alarm systems, costs $15,000. We will import hundreds of such vehicles if their use is beneficial,” Al Arabiya reported quoting Abu Baker Balubaid.

With its T3 Motion, ESV vehicles, the California-based US company T3 Motion took aim at the police, security and site management markets with a no-noise, no-pollution, fast-response, one-person vehicle that delivers long battery run time, short recharge time. The vehicles are currently used for security patrols in approximately 15 per cent of airports in the US.

The key factors contributing to the T3 ESV’s wide range of applications are its economy, simplicity and ease of use. With a low centre of gravity it is highly stable and offers wide visibility and strikes a commanding presence for the driver on a 9-inch platform. It can access restricted spaces including elevators and narrow corridors.

The vehicle with a speed of 35km per hour enables security men to have a clear picture and identity of the vehicles moving in front of it as well as on both sides.
