Amid the marathon promotion of Ra.One by Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan seems to have stolen some of his thunder with the announcement of his new television show on Star Plus.
How else could one explain the press conference organised by Star Plus on Saturday, which only announced Aamir’s association with the channel. It did not reveal the show’s name or share any of the content. Keeping the details of the new show tightly under wraps, Uday Shankar, CEO, Star India, exclaimed that it wasn’t a reality or a fictional show. “It is something that would redefine the entertainment space in the country. It is going to be about real life and real people,” said Shankar.
Aamir, who debuts on Indian television with the show, will produce it under his banner Aamir Khan Productions. It is likely to go on air in early 2012. The actor looked quite happy with the choice of show and said that television is essential in this age because of its power and reach. “I want to do this show to feel connected with the people of my country. Television has immense potential and nobody could have explored it more than Star India,” he said. Aamir described this show as a personal journey for him, which will portray him exactly the way he is in his real life.
