Muslim Goat Sacrifice Blocked in Florida

Florida: Sunrise, Florida City Commissioner, Sheila Alu, said on Wednesday. “It’s shut down. I’m trying to protect innocent animals. This is not an appropriate setting for the slaughtering of animals in an open field in a city that’s as populated as Sunrise. Usually these religious ceremonies take place in a rural area.”

Sheila Alu is referring to a proposed religious ceremony scheduled for this Sunday in Sunrise where a lamb and goat were to be sacrificed as per a Muslim decree.

Apparently Sheila Alu has little respect for religious freedom and is also highly hypocritical. She has no problem when thousands of meals include other animals which are sacrificed daily in her city in homes and restaurants. If she is serious about protecting “innocent animals” as she said yesterday, then why is she picking and choosing which can live and which can die?

Interestingly, lamb, cow, chicken, turkey, alligator and a host of other animals are on the menu at several Sunrise restaurants and in popular groceries in the city.
