I want to leave politics like Tipu Sultan: Imran Khan

By Rizwan Khatik - Sun Feb 12, 3:55 am

Imran Khan Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan has said that he would rather leave politics like Tipu Sultan rather than Bahadur Shah Zafar.

Tipu Sultan was the ruler of Mysore in the later part of the 18th century and spent his life fighting against the East India Company. Sultan was martyred in 1799 and remains as a hero for the Muslims of the sub-continent.

Imran is without doubt one of the most popular political figures of the country and his party is gaining strength in Pakistan’s domestic politics with the passage of time. Some of the political analysts in the country feel that PTI has become the third major force of Pakistan’s politics and is likely to upset the mainstream political parties of the country in the upcoming elections.

There have been reports that the cricketer turned politician is facing life threats since his major public processions in Lahore and Karachi last year.

However, Imran wants to live and die like a lion. He feels that there are two options in front of him; one is to quit politics like Bahadur Shah Zafar, who was the last of the Mughal Kings and was an ease love. The second option is to die like Tipu Sultan and Khan wants to go for the later.
