Egypt allows travel of 1300 Palestinian passengers via Rafah crossing

RAFAH, (PIC): The Egyptian authorities have allowed 1300 Palestinian passenger to travel across the Rafah border terminal on Wednesday, Ayub Abu Shaar, the director of the Rafah terminal, said on Wednesday night.
He denied local press reports that the Egyptian authorities had officially increased the number of travelers across Rafah to 1000 per day.
Abu Shaar that there were promises from the Egyptians to facilitate crossing procedures in order to get over the crisis of the accumulated number of passengers due to the closure of the crossing over the past few days due to the Egyptian presidential elections.
The Egyptian authorities allowed the departure of 2250 passengers over the past two days, which recorded the highest number of travelers since the siege was imposed on Gaza following the kidnap of the Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit in 2006.
